Healthcare access is shrinking, education funding is being slashed, and social services that families rely on are disappearing. Many of our neighbors are struggling to afford basic necessities, while corporations and the wealthy continue to profit.
We cannot wait for outside help—we must act now. Whether it’s supporting mutual aid networks, advocating for fair policies, or simply checking in on those around us, we have to stand together as Louisianans. Our strength has always been in our resilience and our commitment to each other. In times of crisis, we are the ones who will protect our communities, because no one else will.
Together, we can fight for a Louisiana that truly supports its people.
Bridging the Gap
Democracy is a conversation. Sometimes, those conversations can be tough. They can feel more like tests that you didn't know you had to study for. We can be tempted to turn away from them, viewing them as pointless. The gap seems just too large. So, we turn away from them, turn away from even our closest family. We tell ourselves that they can't be reached, that they are brainwashed. And the gap grows larger.
Democracy requires that we trust in each other, that we trust that each person is capable of forming their views based on the sway of their minds, their hearts, and their souls.
